By Debbie Teichmann
My goal setting started at a very early age, and it was entirely self-imposed:
- Sell the most Girl Scout cookies.
- Win the spelling bee.
- Read the most books over the summer to receive the coveted award.
- Be in the top 2% of my college-prep high school class.
- Own the largest AZ Coffee Service Company. (I skipped over the bulk of this list, can you tell?)
So many heart-tugging decisions through the years of trying to balance family and business obligations!
In 1999, after continually meeting all my goals but not finding true inner happiness and peace, I knew there had to be more. With the help of a wonderful life coach, I learned to release my grip on controlling every detail in my life script and started to allow the chapters to unfold and flow into the unknown and trust that it would all work out.
WOW, WOW, WOW! I can honestly assure you there is much, much more to life than meeting goals! My journey in this state of allowing, trust and gratitude has been eye-opening and incredible, fun and exciting, heartwarming, frustrating and scary, and full of synchronicities and miracles.
In 2008, in this connected and flowing state, I experienced the “download” of seven children songs—their lyrics and melodies—into my shampoo-lathered head while I was in the shower! In spite of not knowing the final outcome, I put all the lyrics into a rough format for a book and trusted that it was now in divine hands. Then I waited for the next step to present.
That next step presented in January, 2011, when I met Marilyn at a small gathering. Adironnda’s personal message for me was, “The time is now.” Of course, I made the choice: YES! I will step in—100%!
And with that, my life’s flow quickened. You might even say my kayak hit the rapids! Vivid, colored dreams gave me all the book’s details, and literally every wonderful, talented person I needed stepped into my life in perfect timing.
With grace and ease—and less than eight months’ time—we published Tapping Play: Creates Your Happy Rainbow Day, a full-color book beautifully illustrated by Chris Ricci; we produced and recorded the seven Rainbow Day songs for buyers of the book to download for free; we went live with the website and marketing effort; and we successfully launched the book on Amazon, worldwide—all in time for the holidays of 2011.
A perfectly wonderful Happy Ending, right? Well, not so fast.
2012 brought many more powerful personal lessons. Old habits die hard! I unknowingly slipped back into my old habit of control, and the forward movement of the book slowed to a standstill. Apparently missing the fact that being in the flow is an ever-changing dynamic, I was so frustrated and mad at the universe. I needed help.
Enter Marilyn and Adironnda once again. In a private session, I realized that I’d slid back into the mindset of have to, should do, and need to and was not listening to my spiritual guidance. This was a game-changing ah-HA moment for me, and—once I let go and got back into my heart—miracles happened.
In June, Tapping Play won the Indie Book Finalist Award. In August, Oscar-nominated animator Mike Johnson contacted me, offering his services, as well as his willingness to call in as many favors as possible to animate the seven songs. With this gift from heaven, the animation and copyrights were completed in early 2014.
In all of this, I see 2013 as my year of greatest personal growth, Awakening and major lessons about trusting divine timing and allowing the process to unfold. I definitely needed the support of Marilyn and my other close Lightworker friends. I came to the amazing realization that the birthing process of Tapping Play has been the catalyst to my own personal rebirthing and Awakening. I can now say at a heart level that I am ready, willing, and able.
Do I know exactly what the remainder of 2014 will bring? No. But I am plugged into my spiritual guidance and trust I will hear and know the next step when it presents. I am honored and grateful that Marilyn and Joeaux have invited me to be a part of this October’s Visionaries in Light Convergence in Mt. Shasta. I know this “conference like no other” will be an important step forward for both Tapping Play and me.
Let me close by wishing you a journey that allows you to create your own Happy Rainbow Days—and by inviting you to come visit us at tappingplay.com.
