Surround Yourself with Happy People
Hi, Joeaux again. Wow, we have been getting so many emails from people asking how to stay centered while being in the chaoticness, the craziness that’s happening all around. Years ago, I decided that I just wasn’t going to be in it. I turned off the news.
I limited myself to negative people. And I chose to hang out with people who made me happy, who made me laugh, who looked forward to life, who got excited about life. So I have a little bit of difficulty relating to that. I can say sometimes I go out to the grocery store, shopping, or going through the airport, and we encounter people who are caught up in the chaoticness of what’s happening in the world today.
Take a Deep Breath
I asked Marilyn, “What do you usually do when you’re around people who make you lose your sense of peace?” We both thought about it for a minute and realized that what we do is so simple. We take a deep breath, recognize that we’ve got this uneasy feeling in our body, and send love to the situation.
If we’re watching the news, we just see it as a movie with no emotion. We’re just watching. It’s just information. It’s just fact. If we’re dealing with somebody, a stranger, I think it’s a little more complex when it’s a loved one. But if we’re dealing with a stranger, we just smile, and we try to think of something positive to say about what’s happening.
Place of Peace
The key is you don’t feed into it. You try to help them find that place of being centered. That’s all you can do because whatever they’re going through is their opportunity to decide if they want to center through it. You being that solid place of peace for them, believe it or not, you not going into the drama will help them center a little bit even if you don’t see it at that moment.
Remember when we are going through all this chaos that is your opportunity, as Adironnda says, “Now you know.” Namaste, y’all.
